Originally from the Isle of Man, Mike has shared his expertise and passion for soccer with the Laguna Beach community for over 20 years. Mike played soccer professionally with Evagaros Paphos Football Club from 1986 to 1988. He has extensive experience teaching physical education and coaching at primary, secondary, and post-secondary education levels. He previously coached Varsity Boys Tennis and Girls Varsity Soccer at Laguna Beach High School, where he met his wife Allie, a former coach and teacher. Mike served as Area Coordinator for Laguna Pateadores Chapter from 2014 to 2019. He is currently an assistant coach for the Laguna Beach High School Boys Varsity and a teacher and coach at Anneliese’s School in Laguna Beach. Mike founded Laguna Beach FC in 2020 to increase the accessibility of youth competitive soccer and promote excellence within the sport.
Andy arrived in Laguna Beach from the Isle of Man in 1997, winning a C.I.F. championship in his first year as head coach for Laguna Beach High School Boys Soccer. He is a 3-time C.I.F. championship-winning coach and L.A. Times High School Coach of the Year. Andy played soccer at the university level with Leed Metropolitan University from 1988 to 1992. He played professionally with LA Salsa FC in 1995 and as a trialist with Southampton FC, Huddersfield Town, Brentford, and Manchester United. Andy has taught physical education and coached soccer for over 30 years at secondary and post-secondary education levels. He is the head coach for the Laguna Beach High School Boys Varsity team and an assistant coach at Santiago Canyon College. After serving as a director and coach for Laguna United FC and Pateadores Soccer Club, Andy founded Laguna Beach FC in 2020 to increase the accessibility of youth competitive soccer and promote excellence within the sport.
In addition to coaching for LBFC, Max has coached the Freshman and Junior Varsity teams for Laguna Beach High School. He was born and raised in Manchester, England and supports Manchester United. He played for Manchester United youth academy programs before signing a professional contract with Bury FC at 16 years old. Max has a BA in business management and a Master’s degree in Leadership in Sport. He holds a UEFA B license and was the head coach for Loco Dyche in Manchester and traveling coach for UK International. Max is a welcome addition to the Laguna Beach community. He lives with his wife Brianna in neighboring Newport Beach, CA.
